My sweet Elizabeth...
We had you for only 28 days. In those 28 days we never got to see a smile or a laugh. In those 28 days we only got to see you open your eyes a couple of times; they were such a beautiful dark blue. In those 28 days I got to give you one sponge bath. In those 28 days we got to hold you two times. The first time we got to hold you, we tried to figure out how to say good bye to our baby girl. The second time we held you, we said goodbye. In those 28 days we questioned every decision we were making and desperately hoped they were the right ones for you. In those 28 days we watched our baby girl fight for her life and continually surprise her doctors. In those 28 days I truly learned the value of life and how much pain a mother's heart could hold. We only had you with us for 28 days. We have missed you every day since. You lived for 28 days, but our love for you will last forever.
