I wrote this poem right after I lost Emery:

My heart is broken,
I miss you every single day.
I often shed tears for you
and wonder why you were taken away.

I dream of your life,
what would have been.
Sadly I will never know,
I can only dream of you within.

I will never hear your laughter,
or get to hold your hand.
I only have my memories and love for you
and I am trying to understand.

I feel like I failed you,
that I could not help you grow.
I bet you see it differently,
that I should know.

I still say "sweet dreams" to you
every single night.
But without you here
things will never be quite right.

I want you to always remember
that we hold you so dear.
One day we shall meet again
where there is no pain and no fear.

I'll miss you forever
until my time on Earth is through.
I love you my sweet baby,
please always love me too.
