Conor’s Journey
After you had gone
Bleakness and rain passed,
And the Sun, between the clouds,
Cast a glow upon the trees.
And there it was,
Vivid, in all its splendour,
The Magnificent Rainbow.
And then they came,
The Birds,
The beautiful Rainbow Lorikeets,
Flying back and forth
In colourful array.
With loud chirping sounds,
In Jubilation,
As if to say: “We are here!”
Then they went
As quickly as they came.
And later as the Sun was setting,
It sent out beams of orange, pink and red amongst the clouds.
And between the gap
A Thousand Rays of Light shone through,
And we knew,
It was you!
