... and then I walked up the walkway. Feeling relieved that I was able to write all 42 names in the one sunset. A warm breeze blew softly on my skin. It prompted me to turn around and take one last look at the ocean for that night.

There he was. For the first time in my entire life I felt like things were moving in slow motion. Out on the horizon between the first stars of the evening and the Sapphire blue ocean. I watched this bird that was far out at sea fly from the north all the way to the south until I could not see him anymore. There was no sound. Just a whisper in my ear that he was free.

This is really beautiful, Carly, to see a moment when the divine reaches back to you. You are giving a gift to so many parents.

What you wrote really touched me. My selfish side wants my son back. My appreciative side says I am so glad that my son had a perfect life - going from my womb directly into the arms of Jesus. Those are two emotions that pull me back and forth so many times.
